COVID-19 Policies and Procedures (Effective 5/18/2020)
Beginning May 1, 2020, all businesses in the construction industry in the Commonwealth, including those in new construction, renovation, and repair, as well as land subdivision and design-related field activities, are permitted to maintain in-person operations pursuant to the Governor’s and Secretary of Health’s April 20, 2020 amendments to the Business Closure Orders, and are subject to Guidance for Businesses in the Construction Industry Permitted to Operate During the COVID-19 Disaster Emergency.
Accordingly, Department policies and procedures have been updated as follows:
All building, zoning, fire prevention, and land development applications must be submitted to the Township by U.S. Mail or dropped off. In addition, permit applications may be submitted electronically. The municipal building remains closed to the public.

To drop off, place application in the Community Development drop box located in the vestibule of the municipal building.
Applications that include more than five (5) pages and/or construction drawings greater than 8 ½” X 11” are accepted by mail or drop off only.
Prior to release of an approved building permit, zoning permit, or fire prevention permit, the permit application fee must be paid. The fee may be submitted either by mail, to the address above, or by placing it in the payment drop box located in the municipal building vestibule. Payment must be submitted in the form of a check or money order, which shall be made payable to “North Fayette Township”.
All other application fees and/or escrow deposits must be paid at time of application submission, including, but not limited to, those for land development applications, zoning hearing board applications, and grading permit applications.
Once an application has been accepted as complete, a Code Administrator will review the permit. Any correspondence regarding the permit application will be made by email. Approved permits will be mailed to the applicant at the address provided or placed in the Community Development pick-up box located in the municipal building vestibule. Please note that new permit applications may take longer than the typical 1-3 business days to be reviewed and processed. In addition, the Township does not have control over policies and procedures put in place by the Allegheny County Plumbing Division or 3rdBparty electrical inspection agencies. Please contact those organizations directly with any questions or concerns.
Inspections will be conducted on weekdays, between 7 am and 3 pm. Inspection requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance and must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Once received, an approximate time for the inspection will be provided by email.
