Join us in welcoming our new Township Manager, Mike Baker! Mr. Baker’s official starting day is today, October 1, 2019. We know that he has a lot on his plate, so while he’s settling in, let’s get acquainted!
For the past six years, Mike has been Indiana County Commissioner and has served as Chairman of the Board since 2016. Prior to that, he served two terms as Indiana County Coroner and 22 years as Chief Deputy Coroner.
He is a graduate of Blairsville High School and holds an Associate degree in Computer Network Management, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and Master’s degrees in Employment & Labor Relations and Forensic Science. He served as Vice Chairman of the Technology Committee of the County Commissioners’ Association of Pennsylvania and was recently appointed to the association’s Emergency Medical Services Taskforce. He is a former Division Supervisor for Citizens’ Ambulance Service and was a Helicopter Flight Paramedic with STAT MedEvac of Pittsburgh.
Mike is the Vice Chairman of the Governing Board of Directors of the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE) in Pittsburgh and is past Chairman of CORE’s Community Outreach & Professional Services Committee. He has also served as a member of the Executive Board of Directors of the Indiana County Public Safety Academy.
Mike and his lovely wife Karen were married in 1983 and have four children and four grandchildren. Welcome to North Fayette Township, Mike!
