Blackout Wednesday (Day Before Thanksgiving)

Did You Know?

Sadly, one of the deadliest days on our roads happens right before one of the happiest days in our homes. Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday 11/25 this year) has become known as “Blackout Wednesday” because of the spike in alcohol sales and more people (due to time off work/school) that are heading out to meet with friends. Even with COVID-19 restrictions, we still anticipate a higher than normal volume of people planning on going out when possible to celebrate during the holiday season, including Blackout Wednesday.

The North Fayette Police Department will be joining departments from all over the nation to ensure the roads are safe for those traveling during Blackout Wednesday and throughout the holiday season.

You can help keep our roadways safe - don't let holiday celebrations with friends and family create needless heartbreak. Celebrate safely and responsibly.
