Taxes

The Township collects three primary taxes from property owners, residents, and those working in the Township.   They are Real Estate Tax, Earned Income Tax, and Local Services Tax.

The current Real Estate Tax Millage is 3.29 Mills (.00329).  Allegheny County Office of Property Assessment is responsible for setting the assessment of each property within the County.  You can contact the Allegheny County Office of Property Assessment at 412-350-4600 regarding your assessed market value or appeals. You can access your assessed market value at the Allegheny County Real Estate Website. If senior citizens fill out an application for the Tax Relief Program (Act 77) with Allegheny County it will automatically be forwarded on to the Township.

The Township enacted a 1% Earned Income Tax. By law, the tax is split between North Fayette Township and West Allegheny School District. The School District receives 1/2% and the Township receives 1/2%.  Jordan Tax Service collects this tax.

The Local Services Tax is $52 per year for employees who earn more than $12,000 per year. By law, this tax is split between North Fayette Township and West Allegheny School District.  Of this amount, the Township receives $47 and $5 goes to the School District.
