Summer Camp Program

Update for Summer Camp - as of May 28, 2020

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The North Fayette Board of Supervisors has approved a modified Summer Camp Program to begin on Monday, June 8, 2020. Summer Camp will be limited to 80 participants. Preference will be given to North Fayette Residents, followed by West Allegheny School District residents, then all others. The program will be based entirely outdoors. The Community Center will only be used in the event of excessive heat (a heat index temperature of 103 or greater) or inclement weather.  Payment dates and health and safety plan to follow.

All forms must be completed in their entirety and received before child will be added to the registration list.  Please email registrations or general questions to Nicole Kreutzman at nkreutzman@north-fayette.com.

Update on May 20, 2020:

Thank you for your continued patience during the North Fayette Community Center closure. At this time, we are awaiting a decision from the Board of Supervisors as to if we are able to hold our summer camp program. This decision will be based on responses from our insurance carrier and the state regarding the use of the Community Center building for shelter during inclement weather.  Under the current guidelines, the Community Center will not open until the green phase. We have been told an update to the guidelines will be released tomorrow morning.

The decision has been made not to have our Kits Camp program this summer in order to focus our resources on our school age children if the program may be held.

If the summer camp program is held, the number of participants will be limited in order to adhere to current guidelines and ensure safety.

All of the field trips and pool trips have been cancelled. If the program is held, we will attempt to bring in programs and entertainment options to our location.

Summer Camp - 2020 Information

The all-day Summer Camp program is offered for school-aged children in 1st through 8th grade (for the upcoming school year). Children must have completed kindergarten to participate in the all-day school-aged program.  Structured playtime, field trips, swimming days, and other excursions make this a popular summer experience for children.

Kits Camp is offered for 4 and 5-year olds on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 9 am to Noon.  Structured playtime and activities make this a popular summer experience for children.  Kits Camp will not be offered this summer.

The programs are well attended and enjoyed by many families in our community. The camp is based at the North Fayette Community Center and Donaldson Park.

The handbook with all details and required paperwork for the 2020 summer program is posted below.
