E-Waste Removal

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a location to dispose of televisions & computer monitors as recycling centers are becoming more stringent on what they will accept. Although the Township is continuing to work on a permanent solution to this problem, there are collection events throughout the Pittsburgh suburbs in the spring, summer and fall that offer a means of disposal for these items. Residents can check the Pennsylvania Resource Council website for information on those events. We will also post that information here, on our website, and on Social Media as the information becomes available.

North Fayette Township also hosts our own recycling events; one in the spring and one in the fall. Please sign up for the Trash & Recycling Calendar under "Notify Me" on the homepage and check this website, Social media, and also the Township newsletter for details as they become available.

Unwanted electronic waste can be brought to the Township (shed on the right side of the building, across from the Police entrance) anytime. We accept electric typewriters, cell phones, copiers, computers towers (no monitors, please), mainframes, workstations, servers & laptops, printers, scanners, fax machines, disk drives, surge protectors, microwaves, computer cables & cabling, electronic telephone systems, electronic cash registers, satellite systems, VCR & DVD machines, MP3 Players, cassette players, CD players, video games and video game consoles and all digital photographic equipment.

If you have any questions about electronic recycling or which items we accept at the Township, please call us at 412-788-4888.

Hopeline Program

This program not only helps the environment by providing a safe way to dispose of unwanted electronic devices but also makes contributions to the Hopeline program. They even accept nonworking devices and the parts will be recycled and used to generate funds for non-profit domestic violence advocacy and prevention agencies. There is also an incentive to receive a gift card with each donation.

An explanation of the Hopeline program can be found here.
