E-Waste Removal

It has become increasingly more difficult to find a location to dispose of televisions and PCs monitors these days. Although the Township is continuing to work on a permanent solution to this problem, there are collection events throughout the Pittsburgh suburbs in the spring, summer and fall that offer a means of disposal for these items. Please check this website and the Township newsletter for details as they become available. Residents can also watch the website of the sponsor for these events, the Pennsylvania Resource Council.

Other electronic waste can be brought to the Township between the hours of 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The items cannot be wet, broken down or smashed in any way and no items that contain Freon or refrigerant can be accepted.

Hopeline Program

This program not only helps the environment by providing a safe way to dispose of unwanted electronic devices but also makes contributions to the Hopeline program. They even accept nonworking devices and the parts will be recycled and used to generate funds for non-profit domestic violence advocacy and prevention agencies. There is also an incentive to receive a gift card with each donation.

An explanation of the hopeline program can be found here.
