Demographics

North Fayette Township has been growing at a rapid rate not only in regard to businesses, but also in terms of population. Over 14,000 people call North Fayette Township home (up 1.2% from 2013). The Township's overall growth has been healthy and sustainable. Since 1990, North Fayette's population has increased by 43%. For comparison, Allegheny County's population in that same time span declined by 8.5%. North Fayette's population is expected to continually grow for the foreseeable future.

U.S. Census


According to the U.S. Census Bureau, North Fayette is estimated to have a population of 18,051 residents by 2030. Young families are moving into North Fayette at a faster pace than nearly any other township in Allegheny County. The median age of residents in North Fayette is 38, 2 years younger than the state and county averages. The education levels of North Fayette residents are also much higher than many surrounding areas. 68% of North Fayette's adult population has partaken in at least some college coursework, compared to just 50% in Allegheny County. This high percentage of education attainment has a direct link to North Fayette's well above average median household income of $64,582.
