Commercial Building Permits

Construction documents for any commercial building permit must be signed and sealed by a registered design professional in the State of Pennsylvania and must be reviewed and approved by a third party agency prior to submitting a building permit application to the Township. Review a list of certified 3rd party plan review agencies (PDF) and detailed requirements for construction documents.

Documents to Send With Permit

Some minor construction projects may not require a registered design professional and/or third party plan review, but should still be discussed with the Township Building Department. Upon completion of a third party plan review the following documents are required to be sent to the Township for a building permit:
  • Completed Application
  • Worker's Compensation Insurance Certificate
  • Survey or Site Plan
  • Two sets of approved Construction Documents
  • Energy Compliance
  • Allegheny County Health Department and Agriculture plan approval for food handling
  • Sewer Tap and Application Fee
The Permit Application Flowchart (PDF) may be viewed online.

Issuing a Permit

Upon submission of the required information listed above, the permit will be issued within 2-3 business days. Listed below is a list of applications and permitting fees related to building permits and the subdivision and/or land development approval process.
